The
downloaded file is a compressed file (TaskMagic3Trial.exe).
Once it is downloaded, it will install the 30 Day Trial of
the TaskMagic3 programs on your computer.
You may be given the option to run or to save the file when
you click on the download link. If you choose to run the program,
the installation will begin as soon as the file is downloaded.
If you choose to save the file, you can specify a place to
save it to on your computer. Once the download is complete,
you will need to run the file at some point to install the
software on your computer. |
Please
note that you will need to have full administrative privileges
in order to install the TaskMagic3 Trial on your computer,
and the first time you run each program. If you are using
your own computer, this should not be a problem. However,
if you are using a school computer or laptop, it is likely
that you will have restricted privileges, and you will probably
need to ask a technician to install the trial for you (and
run each of the TaskMagic programs). The
30 day trial begins the first time you run each program on
your computer. Remember, you will need administrative priviledges
the first time you run each program, as well as during installation.
TaskMagicCreate will launch by default at the end of installation.
You
are advised to run TaskMagicPlay as well straight after installation,
with administrator priviledges.
(These notes ONLY apply to the trial version of TaskMagic
available on the download link below. The licensed version
is totally separate and does not require manual installation
and first-run as administrator. The licensed version comes
with msi installers for installation across a network.) |
If
at first you don't succeed, don't give up! Contact us!
If you are trialling TaskMagic3 with a view
to possibly buying it for your school, the last thing
we want to happen is for you to be put off due to technical
problems or other issues with the trial version. We know that
there are thousands of people who really rate TaskMagic and
use it daily in their teaching, and we'd hate for you to have
to miss out because you gave up on TaskMagic due to some technical
or other issue which could have been resolved simply by contacting
us...
Problem
installing the trial? Problem with "run as administrator"
messages?
There are several issues that are specific
to the trial version itself (due to its need to protect itself
and date-stamp its installation). If you have any problems,
please
contact us.
Trialled
it ages ago and would like a new trial? Would you like a longer
trial period?
The trial download on the link above is available
to all, without registration or anything, and once you've
trialled it once, you can't trial it again. However, if you
represent a school wishing to buy TaskMagic, we can provide
you with a different trial version, which is essentially a
time-limited subscription where we control the expiry date.
The beauty of this system is that you only need a new registration
key to convert it into a fully licensed version of TaskMagic3.
Contact
us for more information.
Finding
it difficult? Unsure how to get started?
We'd hate you to give up just because on initial inspection
it appeared complicated to use. It really is really simple
once you get going.
Here are some suggestions to help you:
-
If
you're not sure how to start making your own
exercises, make sure you are opening TaskMagic Create.
You should find it via the Start menu on your computer:
Start > Programs > TaskMagic3Trial > TaskMagicCreate.exe
-
Have
a look at the Help tab at the top of the edit
screens in TaskMagic Create. You should find a "How
to..." section on their telling you how to create
the various exercise types.
-
Watch
the video tutorials on
the TaskMagic blog. As with all blogs, they're listed
in reverse chronological order, so you might want to start
with the ones at the bottom of the list first. Check the
tags on the blog too for more help information and suggestions
for how to make exercises.
-
Contact
us and
ask for help. That's what we're here for. We'd prefer
you to ask us for advice on getting started with TaskMagic,
rather than letting the trial period slip by without getting
to grips with it.
